I’m in love…
I’m in love with my VitaMix. My wonderful husband let me get one as a birthday/Mother’s day present. (It is always helpful that those two day fall right around when we get our tax return.) I did my research. The Costco in Woodinville was having their VitaMix special event and was only 40 minutes from our house. (By the way, I found the VitaMix on Amazon for the same cost as Costco. Just go to this page for all your options.) We made the drive with the family and after getting a whole bunch of fruit and veggies (I needed a stocked fridge for the smoothie making spree I was about to go on) we made our way to the display. While I already knew what it could do, we let him give us the whole schpeal. We got berry smoothies, tortilla soup, peach sorbet, and a yummy green smoothie too. My kids were is heaven.
Sidenote…ever since my girls changed to a free diet, Costco samples have been mocking them. It is brutal to walk by all that free yummy food and not be able to partake. The samples were the only redeeming value of Costco for my kids. My son doesn’t get samples any more either so he isn’t eating in front of the girls. (Isn’t he awesome!?!) Sometimes though, he really wants a particular sample and asks his sisters if they would mind and they always give him the okay. (Aren’t they awesome too!?!) Well on this amazing day, they all got to eat/drink all the samples there.
I digress. This machine dices, blends, juices, pulverizes, and even boils. It is your all around kitchen utensil. I don’t have to chop or grate apples for muffins anymore. I just throw the apple in the VitaMix with some water, blend on low for a few seconds and drain out the water. When we are in need of a quick breakfast or afternoon snack, I put fruit, veggies, greens, and protein powder in and out comes a delicious and nutritious smoothie. I don’t have to cut the tops off the strawberries or core the apple and pineapple. Other than peeling the orange, I just put everything in, turn it on for one minute and I have a perfect smoothie full of vitamins, minerals, protein, and fiber. I can make a quick tortilla soup. It heats it as it blends. I can even grind my own flour. (To learn more about this, click here)
I am serving my family whole foods in all their God given glory. Nothing added or removed. I love it. My kids love it. What a great combination. It is a kitchen purchase worth saving for. It will become an indispensible part of your daily kitchen routine.
