April 27

So while I have discovered a great love for blogging, I am really having trouble finding time to write.  Maintaining two blogs is not easy.  I know…most people would start with one blog but I decided that after two months, I was prepared to have two.  What was I thinking?!?

I think my problem is that blogging is not part of my routine.  I find myself sitting down at the computer but first I check my email or read the blogs I am following.  All of the sudden I realize I should be writing a post about all the great things that are going on here.  So I start, only to be needed by my children within the minute.  They keep thinking that I should feed them.  So demanding:)

A few weeks ago, I read a great post about schedules and routines by Amy at Raising Arrows.  It is definitely worth your time to read.  I got some insight into why schedules make me feel like a failure yet I know that I need something to help me get things done during the day.  I have an announcement, I am a routine person not a schedule one.  I was so excited to see that there are other people like me and there is a way to have a productive day without being a slave to the clock.

Now I am going to work on implementing a routine in our house with index cards.  Amy explains the idea more in part 2 of her series.  That is my goal for this week.  Get my index cards done and give this routine thing a two week shot.  I’ll keep you posted during my blogging time which will be built right into my routine.  See the connection here?  Let’s pray this leads to many more random thoughts from me posted online for all to read:)
