January 25

Hello all.  It has been a long time.  You may be wondering if I fell off the face of the earth, maybe I fell off the Whole 30 wagon.  What could have caused the absence right before the Week 4 menu plan?  Why didn’t all the recipe links make it into the Week 3 menu plan?  Are you ever going to respond to our comments?  I am here to finally answer all those burning questions.

I am pregnant!!!!!!  We are super excited to meet baby #5 but those first trimester blues put a big halt on my blog posting energy.  We found out I was pregnant three days before we started the Whole 30.  I still felt totally comfortable changing my diet as we know that eveything I would be eating would be the very best for baby growing especially if I didn’t limit my fruit too much.  I was feeling good and wrote out all four weeks of meal plans.  I was ready to go.  It was tough the first two weeks but only because I was addicted to sugar.  (Hi my name is Sarah and I am a sugar, dairy, and all things carb-like addict.)

Then hit week three…It was brutal.  I started to feel really sick and wanted nothing to do with food or anything really.  Well except napping curled up on the couch.  I pushed through and posted the meal plan but just couldn’t will myself to post all the recipes.  I continued with the eating plan when I was eating.

By the time we hit week 4 (8 weeks pregnant), my wonderful husband insisted that I add any whole food back into my diet that I would eat.  If it sounded good, I was supposed to eat it.  So I added back some whole grains and a little cheese.  He figured any food was better than no food.  He continued with the Whole 30 and finished it out strong losing a total of 15lbs I think.  What a trooper he was!!!  I sure love him.

It has been ten weeks since tehn and I think I am back.  I’m 18 weeks pregnant now but it has been a pretty rough go this time around and I am still not feeling great.  But I think I can get back on the blogging band wagon.  Did I mention that we have been eating horribly through the holidays and are ready to get back on the Whole 30 band wagon too?  I might eat a serving of brown rice and a little cheese and yogurt so it will be a little modified but I think that is best for my body at this time.  I’ll start getting recipes up again and also Week 4 menu plan is soon to follow.  Be checking back frequently or subscribe if you haven’t already to make sure you get the latest.

Thanks so much for bearing with me and rejoicing with us as we look forward to our newest addition.  (We find out gender in a couple weeks.  I can’t wait!!!!)
