January 29

Well, last night Than ended up with a fever too. It broke during the night so I’m hoping he is done with it. Logan woke up feeling better but Rowan is still pretty bad off. Advil it is.

Breakfast was Paleo Apple Muffins that I made last night. They were good but I think next time I would use apple juice instead of water or maybe some applesauce. They could use to be sweetened up just a bit. I know that is very un-Whole 30 of me. I also made some Paleo Banana Muffins. They have a hint of honey for the kids. Very tasty at another date.

The girls ate their muffins in the car on the way to the competition. The Advil and muffins seemed to work their magic so let the dancing begin.

Here they are. Ready to go and dance. Aren’t they beautiful.

Rowan’s team. Aren’t they the cutest hippies ever!?! They danced to “Don’t Worry Be Happy.” It was their first competition. They won platinum, first overall for their division, and of course Most Entertaining.

I am so proud of Rowan. She was such a trooper. You can tell she is not feeling well yet she did her best. Her favorite part of the dance was her little solo part. She is going to be quite the performer.

Logan and some of her friends from her jazz dance. They danced so well. Platinum and 3rd overall for this dance. They also got a special award called Perfect Performers. Woo-hoo!!

Here are the girls with their amazing teacher/coach Katie. Not only is she a great teacher but a wonderful person as well. We love her and all at Ignite Dance and Yoga.

We followed up the competition with a team lunch at Azteca Mexican Restaurant. I had Arroz con Pollo hold the rice and beans. I even avoided the chips and salsa. While they looked good and I was hungry, it wasn’t worth it.

By the time we got it the car to come home, Rowan was going downhill. Her fever was coming back and she was feeling pretty yucky. Poor girl. She was such a trooper.

Teagan had a basketball game while the girls and I were at awards and lunch. He did a great job even though they lost. I’m bummed I missed it. I love to watch him play. He enjoys it so much.

Dinner was hamburgers with broccoli and asparagus that were tasty but not pictured. I forgot my picture because Than got his fever back. As the rest of us ate he was on the couch bundled in two shirts, a sweatshirt, coat and stocking hat. Not a good sign. Looks like tomorrow will be a day for recovery.
